I believe the only way to bring it back would be purchase recovery media from ASUS. I can also confirm doing all the updates inside of MyASUS will not bring back the function. I’m assuming it’s imbedded into the current operating system the computer shipped with which is why this is a complete fix. Update: If the power light doesn't go off when you unplug the power, make sure to unplug HDMI and DisplayPort cables as well. DISPLAYCAL ASUS INSTALL
This will perform a clean install and it will get rid of all the Asus bloatware. Select gamma 1 and then in Displa圜al click on 'uncalibrated monitor report'. It will bring you to a page with all of your partitions what you want to do is delete them all until you have one big unallocated space. Once done run it at startup, and go through the steps, once you get to the part that asks what type of installation you want.
